- You (or your child, if you are a parent) can learn English, Maths or Science. At just about any level, from beginner to university student. Gil is at home with all three subjects, and is an adaptable, experienced teacher.

- You can work out a suitable time with Gil. He is available to teach online between 8:00 in the morning and 11:00 in the evening, from Monday to Saturday. You just need to find a free slot which will suit you.

Scientific Career
1988-1990 University Of Paris, Orsay, France - Post Doctoral research in Theoretical Physics
1990-1992 Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA - Post Doctoral research in Theoretical Physics
During this time Gil carried out experimental work at Bates Linear Accelerator (MA) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (NM). Also theoretical research at the University of Minnesota (MN) and lecturing in Paris (Fr.), Heidelberg (Ger.), Erlangen (Ger.), Oxford (UK), Manchester (UK), Livermore (CA), Texas A&M (TX), Brookhaven Nat’l Lab. (NY), Berkeley (CA) and Caltech (CA). His publications appeared in scientific journals.
Gil says: “My doctorate was in theoretical Nuclear Physics, but the end of the cold war killed that career. It had nothing to do with defence, but most of the physicists in the world were supported by the US government.”
Career in Finance
From 1992 to 1998 Gil worked as a Quantitative Analyst for large investment banks in Chicago and London.
Gil says: “I switched careers to work as a quantitative analyst (which is in essence a mathematician) for investment banks; first in Chicago, then in London.”
“When I decided I had enough of that, I moved to Spain and opened a bookshop in Calpe, which is on Spain's Costa Blanca, one of the best places in the world.”
“I am now teaching, which I enjoy. I am also active on social media, and one of my recent comments got 1,000 ‘up-votes’ and 10,000 viewers. I have many followers.”
“I often call the local radio station when they talk about world events. I realise that the public is often ignorant when it comes to science, not to mention history.”
Languages
Gil speaks several languages fluently: English, French, Spanish, German and Hebrew.
Teaching
Gil has taught English, maths and physics in a boarding school, and also via webcam to people in Moscow, Stavropol, Belgrade, London and Jerusalem.
Now working with a cluster of students across Alicante—and further afield.
Gil says: “As for teaching: I am very flexible when it comes to schedules and in terms of what my students want to learn. I am happy to work at every level.”
“When it comes to English, I do not do too much grammar, but a lot of conversation. I personally like grammar, but too much can confuse people.”
“It seems strange for many people that one can teach maths online. When teaching face to face one expects to use a blackboard or pencil and paper. I tend to use an equation editor, and ask my students to dictate to me, so that they do not have to struggle with editing themselves, only with the material they are learning. It works out well.”
